Sometimes users notice the “Deactivate License” button in Settings and wonder why it exists or when to use it. This option is designed to protect your license and data whenever you change systems, upgrade your OS, or simply no longer need the software on a particular device.
Deactivation ensures that your license remains valid and portable, allowing you to safely transfer it to another system without conflicts. It also helps maintain security by removing license traces and sensitive files from your old computer.
You don’t need to deactivate if you’re only uninstalling and reinstalling on the same computer, as long as you don’t check “Delete all data” or “Erase all data” during uninstall. If that box is checked, your local files will be deleted even without deactivation.
